My name is Toby Powell-Blyth and I am a Freelance Project Manager with a heavy technical PHP background.
I have over 8 years of new media experience working throughout the project lifecycle developing web based, and some CD based projects for various clients of varying sizes and national importance. While at Domino Systems, I worked with Fujitsu Siemens, Braitrim, B&Q, Natures Best, Spirax Sarco etc, to produce high quality web based systems.
From there I moved on to Claritum systems, where I built a print management product that was used by customers like Océ (a multibillion euro photocopying and print management company). Here I had experience of project management, and was involved with managing client expectations, and specifying and designing new areas of functionality.
While working at web design agencies Domino (now Business and Decision) and Force Internet (now defunct) I was constantly working with many projects on the go, and had to manage mine and others' time effectively to produce the best results for the customers, whereas at Claritum, we always had a minimum of three customers on the go, and at one point I was project managing 3 of them myself. This involved needs capture, resource assignment and control as well as delivery assurance.
From Print Management, I move through a brief stint at Honda (Swindon) Project Managing in their Product Assurance department. A subsequent relocation caused me to move to London, where I worked with Pod1, a Media Solutions company. At Pod1, my role was Head Of Development, which caused me to go to pre-sales meetings as technical advisor to companies such as Links of London, Uniqlo, CPA Patents and Annuities, Ukash, Matches Fashion, Blue Inc, Mr and Mrs Smith, Hi-Tec, Kenwood and many many other large organistaions. I managed a team of web developers to create a framework on which to base all future websites on.
Since Pod1, I have worked as an independant contractor, for some sites like a national Dietary Advice website (name supplied on request), Blue Inc (again), CPA (again), Ukash (again), a major hotel booking website (name supplied on request).
